JUDAS PRIEST AND DEEP PURPLE

I don't recall Rob singing one chorus or anything lyrics that needed him to belt it out, actualy he seemed to strain singing most of the lyrics, the band sounded decent. As for Deep Purple, they sounded great even though Ian seemed to strain some also but he left it all on the stage. His effort was fantastic, unlike Rob's.

DEEP PURPLE JUDAS PRIEST

Rob Halford is getting too blind to read his teleprompter. Spent most of the show bent over looking for it. Where's that other singer? Deep Purple, excellent.

DRIVE-BYS PERFORMANCES

Concerts today are all brief, rushed experiences. Bands play approximately an hour. 10 to 12 songs. Judas Priest and Deep Purple were no different. While the concert was very much worth the 'Face- Value' price of admission, with each band appearing to enthusiastically perform their sets, the whole thing felt and sounded rushed. Whatever became of 2 hour plus shows with multiple encores, wherein bands could perform almost their entire known catalog 'jamming' deep into each song's personality. The above seems to no longer exist, rather today everything is a rush to get on and off the stage. Live music fans, supporting live music with their time and money, deserve more than glimpsed Drive-Bys.

DEEP PURPLE/ JUDAS PRIEST

Judas Priest are very good at what they do. Halford has constructed a band similar to Ozzy's over the years (IE, very competent hired guns). However, I don't like classic heavy metal so it's not my cup of tea. I was bored to tears after about 20 minutes. Deep Purple were much better. Paice and Glover still rock. For Ian Gillan to even be attempting to sing songs that require such high-pitched screams at his age is truly remarkable. Of course his voice couldn't match up to his his younger years, but I was highly impressed with how he could reach most of the heights, giving all their old songs his personal charisma. The long-winded organ solo performances I could do without. The first band, The Temperance Movement, were fantastic and full of energy. I'd LOVE to see them at a smaller venue. You should check out. Like a British "Black Crowes". Classy!!

BANDS GOOD, CROWD OK

The band's rocked. Older but still iving it their all, nice to see Ian and Rob and the other long time players, glover, etc. The crowd was a mix of newer meatheads, music enthusiasts, and older metalheads who unfortunately are a combination of the diehard music fan and the metal kid that never grew up, abnoxious, get a lifer..
